MIKE & BFD ARE ROAD-READY! SAN DIEGO PARTY ADDED!

Wow, can you believe it’s 2015 already?

Hi, space travel fans! I’m on the home stretch of making the Scambot 2 album. I’m not making any predictions, but I predict it’s going to be a good album. We’ll announce pre-order details when we know the release date, and I hope to know that very soon. I’m making a lot of progress daily on it and I have a date in my head by when I intend for us to be done with the tracking and mixing.

I’m taking a few moments away from the studio next month, though, to get some Beer For Dolphins gigs in with Bryan Beller and Joe Travers. I wish there were time for us to do anything other than a few California dates, but Scambot 2 is a heavy priority right now.

We’ll be doing a handful of very fun things – gigs at Alva’s in San Pedro, Biscuits & Blues in San Francisco, and the Baked Potato in Los Angeles – plus an exclusive gig in the backyard of a friend of ours’ place in El Cajon near San Diego (if you’re interested in attending this semi-private gala please write to our host at bfdbash@laffland.com. It promises to be insanely fun, in the way that only things that happen in backyards can be.)

There won’t be much time for many more MK/BFD gigs this year it seems, so if you want to see one of our shows and you can be in California in early June, please try to come around and see us.

NEW RELEASES

So many new albums coming – besides my own, I’m also on the new Joe Satriani album Shockwave Supernova which comes out in July.

That album also features Bryan Beller and Marco Minnemann, members of The Aristocrats (they’re also both on Scambot 2). The new Aristocrats album Tres Caballeros comes out in June. And Marco’s new album Celebration is out in a couple of weeks too.

It’s a lot of new albums, but we’re all trying to get in under the wire before the worldwide ban on album-making takes hold in early 2016. (Well okay, it’s not strictly worldwide, but it will be illegal for anyone other than Taylor Swift and Yo-Yo Ma to make albums.)

Oh and jeez another new album you need to know about is Godsticks‘ new one Emergence. It comes out in August. Godsticks are a brilliant band that we were fortunate to play and travel with on the last Keneally Band European tour, and they are wonderful lads, in addition to making beautiful and complex hard rock music that you would enjoy greatly – please check it out.

MORE EVENTS

On June 12 I’ll be playing in Satriani’s band as part of Benefit For Cliff III, in support of our friend Cliff Cultreri who definitely can you use our help in his medical struggles – Steve Vai and Animals As Leaders will also perform.

And in late June please come on out to The G4 Experience, where I’ll be immersed in all things guitar for four days in gorgeous Cambria, CA, alongside Joe Satriani, The Aristocrats and Animals As Leaders – a fearsome lineup of players and instructors if ever there were a fearsome lineup of players and instructors!

And! If you are in Europe! Between September and November! I’ll be over there with the Satriani band for the first leg of the Shockwave Supernova tour (more to come in 2016).

Thank you everyone – hope you’re doing well – and hope to see you soon.

Love,

Mike
