BACKWARDS DEB

Ok, folks - time for the daily bass tab! You didn't think I had an
instrument at hand, did 'ya? Did 'ya, huh?!? Anyway, ">" indicates a lower
grace note (hammer-on or slide, you choose). Have fun!

------------------------------4--------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------0--------------0---0-

INSTRUMENTAL = much like CHORUS (excl. the last descending line)

PRE-INSTRUMENTAL except the last two open E's.

Do this instead:

-------------------------------
-------------------------------
-------------------------0-----
--1--------2-----2-------------
-------------------------------

LAST VERSE = based on the other verses except you should play less (and not
forget that low C. Yummy!)

CHORUS = keep it going

INTERLUDE = I'll check out that chordal thing in the very end some other
time. Sorry. You'll do OK with the roots though, if you want to play along.

PRE-INSTRUMENTAL except the last two open E's.

- end on Bb

This is FUN,
Jaan

Additional notes for the tab above

The tab above gives you a *general* idea of what "Backwards Deb" is all
about - i.e. it's not a 100% detailed transcription of what Beller plays on
the CD. Not even 95%, as a matter of fact. Tabbing every differing verse
etc. would not only seem silly to me but it would also be hugely time
consuming... There's a couple of fills here & there that should be easy
enough to figure out by ear if you're going to be playing this sucker. Does
good for your ears too! Should someone notice any horrid mistakes in my
transcription, *please* do tell! As it is, not only did I miss my bass when
tabbing out - I didn't have my copy of "Dancing" either... And so I just
ran with it and worked out by heart. Not that I don't care for us bass
players, mind you... (I loaned the CD to a friend who's quickly turning
into another Keneally Konvert!)

Rhythmically, "Backwards Deb" is a pretty challenging tune. Truth be
told, whenever we performed this song live in Germany, I wasn't even
counting meters because, frankly, if you have the feel for the song down
already after a couple of hundred (or more) listenings, you *will* get it!

More additional notes for the tab above

Ok, I fucked it up by using lines too long... I'm in a bit of a hurry as
I type so please mind me for taking the time to correct this. If any of you
kind bass playing and more... ahem, computer oriented people could work out
a readable version of the tabulature, I'd love you 'till infinity and then
some. I know it's not saying much but, y'know... :-)

Jaan
