I’m camped out on my couch letting my back recover from a move. We moved to where there’s a few more trees around. No regrets!
Main thing I wanted to say here: Mike Keneally & Beer For Dolphins (the Keneally/Beller/Travers version thereof) are going to be bouncing around California a bit in June, doing gigs in San Pedro, LA and San Francisco – we’re going to rage righteously! (See dates below.) Our last Baked Potato gig was insane – I honestly think we’ve never played better and I’m excited to discover how much further things can go. Please attend if you can my friend!
(Also – on June 19, the night before the BFD gig at the Potato, I’ll be playing there with Jamie Kime again. If you weren’t able to make last month’s Kime gig, voila! Another shot!)
Beer For Dolphins first emerged as a band name 21 years ago – and I understand that the Keneally Store is commemorating this reality – allow me to step aside momentarily for a commercial interruption please…

What’d I miss? I was in the kitchen.
More sssstuff (that’s my Chuck Barris impersonation): in late June the G4 Experience will be taking place again in Cambria, CA, featuring Joe Satriani, The Aristocrats, Animals As Leaders and myself doing instruction and performances in a severely idyllic setting. Guitar overload and a big ton of fun. Last year’s was great and I’m very happy to be returning for more.
The new Satriani album is hitting the “shops” in July and the next round of Satch touring begins soon afterward – check out Satriani.com for details. We’re hitting Europe first, with lots more dates to come.
Had a great time a few nights ago at the 1st anniversary of BAKED with Brendon Small and Steve Agee at the Baked Potato. A great lineup of comics including Brody Stevens, Marc Maron, Dean Delray, Dana Gould, Karen Kilgariff – it was nuts I tell ya! Both Marc and Dean asked me to appear on their podcasts so keep an ear cocked for that.
I’m not making any promises here, least of all to myself, but I am severely dedicated to the CONCEPT of completing Scambot 2 in the next few weeks. I have an end date in my head which I’m keeping in there for now, but I’m fired up and ready to put this sucker to bed. Maybe we’ll do a live stream of an album session like we did a few times while we were doing Wing Beat Fantastic and You Must Be This Tall (those session videos are still archived on the Keneally Ustream page btw). Would y’all be into that? We will pre-order info for you as soon as we feel thoroughly sure that that light we see is actually the end of the tunnel and not just oncoming traffic.
Thank you for reals! See you soon!
Love,
Mike
